Americans have been celebrating the Fourth of July for almost 250 years in much the same way as they did in the early years with their dazzling display of fireworks. However, with precautions in place in the city of Santa Ana against the current pandemic, it may be hard to enjoy one of these amazing arrays of fireworks this year.

Even though you may not be able to watch any firework shows this year, there are still many ways to celebrate Independence Day. Here are three Fourth of July activities to keep you entertained this year.

Bake Red, White, and Blue Treats to Enjoy with Your Family

Baking red, white, and blue treats is a great way to get into the Fourth of July spirit! There are many delicious treats you could make to celebrate this holiday. One example is a flag fruit dessert pizza. You may even enjoy making some firecracker popcorn. Feel free to get creative with your baking for a Fourth of July treat for the whole family to enjoy.

Make a Fourth of July Craft

While you may not be able to light any fireworks this year, you can still create a fireworks show of your own with just some pipe cleaners, glue, and paper. This fun craft is perfect for kids of all ages and will allow them to let their creativity shine.

Host a Small Barbecue with Immediate Family

Because of social distancing, you may not be able to host any Fourth of July parties with friends or neighbors this year. However, you can still enjoy a small barbecue at home with your family. Enjoy the holiday with some tasty potato salad or some homemade root beer.

Unfortunately, health concerns may make this Fourth of July a little different from ones in the past, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t still be celebrated. Instead of lighting fireworks this year, celebrate the Fourth of July by making patriotic treats for your family, making a Fourth of July craft with your kids, or hosting a small barbecue. Whatever your celebration looks like, take the time to enjoy those around you and have a happy Fourth of July!
