We’ve installed drought-tolerant landscaping, which means we use plants, such as succulents, that don’t require much water to flourish. We’ve also installed a drip irrigation system and replaced grass and mulch areas with decorative stone. This allows us to preserve thousands of gallons of water.

Inside our buildings, we practice green living by utilizing our advanced plumbing system. Standard toilets use about 3.5 gallons of water each time they flush, but not ours! We’ve installed low-flow toilets , which use approximately 20 percent less water than your typical toilet. For perspective, each low-flow toilet can save up to 13,000 gallons of water each year!

Save on Paper and Plastic

We’ve also gone paperless at Villa Del Sur Apartment Homes by making everything—rent payments, service requests, applications, and notices—available to our residents in their online portal. Not only is this an added convenience, but it eliminates unnecessary paper waste.

One of the best tips for living green is to recycle. We have recycling bins in our main office, and we encourage all residents to recycle in their homes. Plastic bottles, containers, empty cans, paper, and flattened cardboard are all items you can recycle . However, be mindful that you cannot recycle food, liquid, plastic bags, plastic wrap, or cups with wax or plastic coating.
